Annual Reports

Showcasing an organization's or business’ achievements in words and images is a fun puzzle. I love matching photos with text and graphic elements to bring your company's story to life. Is your organization ready to show off your year?

I’m happy to help.

The City of Portland Children’s Levy, is a taxpayer-funded agency that provides critical services to the most underserved groups in our community. I was honored to showcase the work done by this city agency for 11 years. Following are examples of various, creative approaches I devised each year.

Annual report my original concept to use the meaning of flowers

2017 Community Report for Portland Children’s Levy Maybe the most beautiful annual report ever created! My creative concept used the idea that flowers traditionally have represented qualities (see the list below) (did you read “The Language of Flowers” …. it’s where I got the idea, loved that book). We selected 8 agencies to visit and asked 8 participants at each facility to select a quality from the list. They didn’t know what flower they would be asked to pose with. This shows the cover and some of the inside pages. Click here to see the full report.

  • Visit 8 sites and take photos of 8 participants at each site

  • Buy a LOT of flowers (and transport them!)

  • Creative layout and design of the 28-page document

  • Create press ready and web-ready files

  • Print coordination

2018 ANNUAL REPORT This year we wanted an art project. My (original and very clever if I do say so myself) concept was to draw each child’s profile and have them color it in with images of things they love, their hopes and dreams, their favorite foods and movies, and future aspirations, etc. The kids loved it and it was a great chance for them to express their emotions. I really like the back cover where I melded together four different profiles into one. The theme was Our Year in Profile.Conceptual theme creation and generationDraw each profile!Visit 8 sites and draw profiles of each participantLayout and design the 28 page documentCreate press ready and web ready files Print coordinationClick here to see the full report.

Theme is “Many Voices, Many Journeys,” shows a variety of cultures

2020 Annual Report This year’s theme is “Many Voices, Many Journeys,” so we wanted to show the variety of cultures that were served the Levy. Each participant gave us a quote and we translated them into their native language, so the layout example page here shows the Nepalese translation. The Levy had a new brand which is built around all of these geometrical shapes. I used the shapes in a variety of different arrangements.

Water Quality Report for West Slope Water District I used to do a lot of these, every public water provider is required to report the findings of their water quality to all of their ratepayers every year. These reports are mostly digital anymore. Conceptual theme creation and generationCreate page layoutOriginal spot illustrations
