Mt. St. Helens • 2021

Before it exploded this beautiful mountain had a perfectly-rounded ice cream cone top. This view is from the north and shows the caldera that’s left after the explosion. Below is Spirit Lake, once considered a holy place and home to many summer cabins, before the volcano. The hike is a memorial to Harry Truman, one of those who chose to stay behind in their cabin, even as the explosion was imminent.
